FLSA:  Exempt

SUMMARY 

Responsible for creating display designs and samples for customer presentations and production orders. This level structural designer is considered senior level and is responsible for primarily executing the most complex projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Project Onboarding

  • Gather relevant information from sales team or provided samples
  • Maintain proper communications with parties involved in project
  • Develop and record structure(s) for customer and sales review 

Design Creation

  • Identify structure that provides greatest benefit
  • Reproduce CAD drawings from supplied samples
  • Supply improvements and insights to designs
  • Adhere to project timelines 

Sample Generation

  • Operate CAD table to produce customer samples
  • Print and assembling mock ups for customer review
  • Maintain the sample to comply with a clean and safe work environment 

System Maintenance

  • Ensuring all company systems are updated to reflect latest design work
  • Generating and posting all relevant project documents to the company system
  • Maintaining an accurate accounting of time spent on various design projects 

Additional duties may be assigned by management. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
  • College education or heavy college coursework in the field of computers, CAD, and drafting, or applicable work experience.
  • 5+ years’ work experience in point of purchase/packaging and/or display
  • Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Good communicator with customers and sales staff.
  • Proficient when using Artios CAD, Kongsberg table, or similar tools.
  • Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office programs. 

Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area
  • Minimum one semester graphics art, drawing, or color concepts in either high school or college, or comparable work experience. 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations. 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

The individual must have a working knowledge of the following: 

  • Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
  • Product layouts and production specifications
  • Product quality specifications
  • Quality standards
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employee is frequently required to sit, to talk and to hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to type. Employee occasionally must lift 35 lbs. or less from floor to waist level. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus for reading and computer use. Will require operation of cutting table, requiring an employee to reach with hands and arms. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the functions of this job. 

Work primarily in a climate controlled, office environment with minimal safety/health hazards. The position is primarily sedentary. When operating a CAD table, employee is exposed to moving parts.
